You will learn to use Excel while creating a membership list. **A GOOD working knowledge of MS Word before taking this course will make learning Excel MUCH easier.

What Do We Offer?

We are proud to announce that the Devon Public Library has been granted the Government of Alberta’s Community Adult Learning Program (CALP) grant for another three years.  Literacy skills are needed every day-at work, at home, at school and in the community.  Adult literacy is about much more than reading and writing instruction.  Literacy is an essential life skill, necessary for everyday decision-making to adapt and succeed in a knowledge-based economy. 

The Devon Public Library offers programs to help the community with access to information and tools they need to learn, work, create, and thrive.  Residents and newcomers will have the opportunity to develop employability skills training, literacy skills (including digital), English Language Learning and life skills.  The learning environment in the library is friendly, relaxed and non-threatening.

Coaches offer one-on-one or small class support and will work with one or more adult students to help them meet their learning goals.

Exam Proctoring

Devon Public Library provides exam invigilation for your online or print distance learning courses. The library offers a private room and the use of a laptop if required. There is a fee of $20 per exam, debit/credit/cash accepted. Exams can take place Monday-Friday, between 9am-4pm. 

To book an exam, please email linda@devonpubliclibrary.ca or call the Library at 780-987-3720.

Please note:

·      it is the student's responsibility to ensure the date booked meets the deadline for their course.

·      Proctor does not sit in the room for the duration of the exam but checks in periodically (not all schools accept this).

If you are needing to update your resume quickly, BGS Career Ventures offers a 48 hour typing service.  The resume service is for people who have a resume and require an update to their current resume or have a time sensitive need to meet an application deadline.
