The Friends of the Devon Public Library are always in need of new volunteers to help with their many fundraising events.  If you are interested in helping your community and the library please contact the Friends at fdpl2008@gmail.com.  

The Friends hold their meetings the second Thursday of every month at 7:00 p.m. in the Devon Public Library program room. Anyone interested is welcome to attend.

Donations

Tax Receipts

The Friends of the Devon Public Library are a registered charity. Cash donations are accepted as well as e-transfers to fdpl2008@gmail.com. Donations over $20 are eligible for income tax receipts.

Used Book Sales

The Friends of the Devon Public Library collect used books and A/V items in new or like new condition for their book sales. Due to lack of space, the library cannot accept donations on a regular basis. Please watch for advertising before the next book sale, as we are usually able to accept these items the week leading up to the sale. Thank you for your continued donations and understanding.

Summer Reading Club

Registration for TD Summer Reading Club now open!

Reading challenges, book recommendations, prizes, events, and more, all summer long.  This year, we'll travel AROUND THE WORLD at the library, visiting 7 places in 7 weeks through stories, songs, and activities.

July 11-August 23

Ages 6-9: Tuesdays 1-2:30pm

Ages 10-14: Wednesdays 1-2:30pm

Summer Reading club also has challenges and prizes available for early childhood, ages 0-5. Though there are no events for this age group, we still encourage you to register your child, track your reading with them, and win some very cute and fun prizes!

Teen/Adult Reading Challenge

Welcome to the Teen and Adult reading challenge! 

Starting July 10th, you can pick up your first bookmark at the library. There are a variety of bookmarks, each with 3 different challenges. Return your bookmark with completed challenge(s) to the library to be entered into the draw. Draws take place August 23.

 Challenge examples include:

  • Read a book originally written in another language
  • Read a book about a land you would like to explore
  • Read a book published this year
  • And more!

Complete as many book challenges as you can and receive an entry into the prize draw for each book you complete.
